Steps to Program a Remote Control
- First, close the garage door, then install batteries into the remote. The amount/type of batteries used will vary depending on the exact model of the remote.
- Press ‘Program.’ This button is usually located under the cover of any universal remote system. To access it, a section of the main cover automatically slides open upon touch. On some remote controls, a lit LED light would flicker to indicate each time the button is pushed.

- Aim the remote towards the ‘Smart’ console, then press the ‘Open/Close’ tag several times. The amount of times the button is pushed will depend on its specific model. Nevertheless, any universal remote model would include chart listings of different brands and the number of times the button needs to be pushed for reprogramming.
- Press the ‘Program’ console and test the remote control to see if it is appropriately programmed.

Within that time, press and hold the button again on the remote control. Remember to release the button immediately after the opener lights flicker twice or two consecutive clicks resonate from the console.
